If you live in a multilingual household, you may want to know how to switch languages on Netflix. Netflix allows you to change the language of the user interface, audio, and subtitles. This gives you the ability to enjoy Netflix movies and TV in the languages that you (and your family) prefer to use.
Changing the language on Netflix is a simple process, and you can do it on the web or through the mobile app. If you want to change the language of Netflix, this is what you have to do.
How to change the language of Netflix
You can change the language of Netflix through the Accounts menu. To access it, open Netflix in your web browser and sign in if you haven’t already.
Next, click the drop-down menu next to your account’s profile picture in the upper right corner and click Bill.
On the next page, scroll down to the section Profile and parental control.
Expand the profile to which you want to change the language and click on the link Change beside Idiom on the menu.
In the section Display languageAt the top, choose the new language you want to use for the account.
Below section Display language is the Languages of series and movies section. You can also select different languages for the content you want Netflix to recommend.
Regardless of what you choose on this page, be sure to click the button Keep from the bottom.
After saving the language changes, log into the account in which you changed the language to see the results.
How to change Netflix language with profiles
Another way to change the language on Netflix is through the Profiles. First of all, launch Netflix in your browser and click on your profile icon in the upper right corner. In the menu that appears, click Manage Profiles.
On the screen of Manage ProfilesYou will see an edit icon on each profile image: click the one you want to change.
Use the drop-down menu Idiom to choose the language you want to use on the Edit profile. You can also change the username, profile icon, maturity settings, and autoplay controls.
Lastly, be sure to click the Save button at the bottom after making any changes.
Change Netflix language on mobile
The mobile application does not allow to change the language directly. Instead, the Netflix app on iPhone and iPad devices It will direct you to the Netflix Accounts page on the web.
If you use the Netflix app on Android, things are a little easier. Tap your account icon in the upper right corner to get started.
Press Bill on the next screen: your default browser will open the page Netflix accounts. Scroll to your profile, expand it, and press Change beside Idiom.
Make the necessary changes and save the configuration. The changes will apply to your entire account, allowing you to use different Netflix languages on other devices.
Change the language of Netflix audio and subtitles
It is also possible to change the subtitle language on Netflix. You don’t have to permanently change the language, as shown in the previous steps. Instead, you can change the audio and subtitle languages while watching a show.
To do it on your PC or Mac, open Netflix in your browser and start watching a show or movie. Click the chat icon in the lower right corner and change the audio or subtitles to the language you want to use.
To do this on your mobile device, open the Netflix app and start streaming a show or movie. Then touch the button audio and subtitles on the bottom.
Select the language you want to use for the audio and / or subtitles and press Apply.
