Rename a Microsoft account
The first thing we will do is open the browser that we use enables either Chrome, Firefox or Edge and we will have to enter the web of Outlook. Next, we will have to log in to the account we want to change the name of.
After successfully logging in, we will go to the “Your information” page where we can see all the account information, as well as the editable areas. What stands out the most on this page is the circular box that contains our avatar that is located just below the current name of the Microsoft account. So, in order to change the name of the account we will have to click on the blue link that says “Edit name” at the bottom.
A new window will appear called “Edit Name”. This is where we will be able to add the new name and surname, when we do it, the only thing left to do is enter the Captcha code and then click on “Save”.
For the changes to take effect in Windows, we will have to restart the computer and log in again. In order to see the new name in Office 365, we will open the Office application and click on File> Account and select “Close session”.
Then we will proceed to click on “Sign in” and we will log in with the Microsoft account. Now we can see the new name.
