This post shows students and new users the steps to find out the date and time Windows was installed on a computer. There are times when you want to know the date and time Windows was installed on a computer.
There are a few ways to determine the date and time Windows was installed on a computer. If you want to know how old a computer is or if Windows has been reinstalled, check the installation date.
One thing you should know is that the installation date may not be accurate. This is because if you have upgraded to a newer version of Windows (for example, upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11), the original installation date that is displayed is the date of the upgrade.
You will see how this can be misleading as the original installation date has been changed to the date you upgraded.
