How to Modify Hyperlinks in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

It’s not too hard modify hyperlinks in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The links that we add in the Microsoft office suite are underlined in blue and on many occasions it is not what we need. We can “customize” them so that they are really how we want, changing many things to our liking.

Modify hyperlinks in Excel

  • We click on the hyperlink, then we will click on the arrow of the Source group that is located on the Home tab.
  • A Format Cells dialog box opens.
  • We will click on the Source tab.
  • From the Font page, we can choose a font, font style, size, and color for the hyperlink.
  • Another option that we will find here is the possibility of underlining with another style or eliminating the underlining.
  • We can return the hyperlink formatting to normal by clicking the Normal Font checkbox.
  • We can see a preview to see how it would look.
  • Then we click OK.

Modify links in Word

  • We click on the hyperlink, then go to the Home tab and go to the Styles group.
  • We will see that a Styles panel appears on the right side.
  • Hover over Hyperlinks and click Modify on the menu.
  • A Modify Style dialog opens.
  • In this four we can change the style of the font, its size, color, the font itself, etc.

Although there is another method to change some things of the hyperlink in Word. We go to the Home tab and click on the arrow in the Font group.

A Font dialog box will appear, here we will have to play with the options until we find what we want and finally we click OK.

From PowerPoint

  • We click on hyperlink and then on the arrow of the Source group from the Home tab.
  • We will see that a small Font window opens.
  • In this, we can change the font, style, size and color. Once we finish we will click OK.

Normally, when we first create a link or hyperlink, the default color is blue. However, as you can see, we can change that color and other things to make the link stand out and stand out from the rest of the text. We can even achieve that there is no difference at all.
