It’s pretty straight forward restart or reset a ps4 controller and above all things it is very useful. The reason? It solves almost all the problems that the driver can have. Additionally, we will need to restart it to be able to pair it with another console, computer or mobile device.

Hard reset a PS4 controller

To be able to reset a PS4 controller or controller we are going to need a paper clip or a small thin tool, it can be a pin, for example. This we will have to insert it into a small hole that is located on the back of the controller.

So, once we get the tool, we’re going to shut down the console and unplug the controller. On the back of this, near the L2 side button, we are going to see a small hole.

Reset command.

In this hole, we are going to have to insert the tool that we have. We will have to keep it inserted for about five seconds, here we are pressing the reset button.

Connect via USB.

The controller is now rebooted and ready to pair with the console. In order to pair it again we will have to connect the controller to the USB port and then turn on the console.

PS button.

When the PS4 is on, we will have to press the PS button, which is located in the center of the controller. In this way the controller is already paired with the console and we can use it to play without problems.
