Where are Chrome bookmarks saved on my computer?

The markers of Chrome I know keep in different places on the computer and the same browser. We can find them in the bookmarks bar, in the other bookmarks folder, in the sidebar and also in a folder on Windows and Mac.

Where are Chrome bookmarks saved on my computer?

In order to find where Chrome bookmarks are saved on a Windows computer, we will have to open File Explorer and go to drive C, where we have the operating system installed.

From here, we are going to go to Users > Username. We’re going to need to enable the Hidden Items option found in the View tab at the top of Explorer.

Now is when we are going to be able to see a folder called AppData and where we are going to double click.

Once we are in AppData, we are going to have to go to Local> Google> Chrome> User data> Default.

In the Default folder, we will look for the files called Bookmarks and Bookmarks.bak, in the first the current bookmarks would be saved and in the second those that we have deleted. If we haven’t removed any, Bookmarks.bak won’t exist.

Find them on Mac

In the case of Mac, we are going to open Finder. We’re going to hold down the Option key on our keyboard and we’re going to click Go > Library at the top. It is important to keep the option key pressed, otherwise, we will not see the option in the menu.

From this section we will have to go to Application Support> Google> Chrome> Default.

In the same way that it happens in Windows, we will find two files: Bookmarks and Bookmarks.bak. The first saves the current bookmarks and the second the ones we have deleted.

And this would be all, in this way we can create backup copies of our bookmarks in a few seconds or use them to take to another computer or device. Remember that, if you have any questions, you can leave it in the comment box that you will find a little further down and we will be happy to help you solve it.
