Add music to Instagram posts
In order to add music to our Instagram Reels we will have to follow these steps:
- The first thing we will have to do is open Instagram and click on the Plus (+) icon that is located at the bottom of the screen.
- Of all the options available to us, we are going to have to choose Reels. Here we have the possibility of adding a video that we have already recorded or recording a new one.
- Once we have this ready, we are going to proceed to press Add in the upper right corner.
- Next, we will choose the music icon.
- We’ll browse through the list of songs until we find the one we want to add.
- Once we have the song selected, we will have to click on Share to be able to send the Reel.
Add music to an Instagram post (videos)
It is important to know that the social network does not allow you to add music directly to the publications. It only allows you to add it to stories and Reels. Even if we download a story that has music, it won’t have sound.
In order to add music to a video that we want to use in a publication, we will have to edit the video before uploading it. We have several free video editing programs that we can use from mobile devices, such as InShot, available in the Play Store.
- We open the InShot application.
- We press the Video button and add the video we want to upload.
- Click on Music and then choose Track.
- We are going to choose the “Featured” tab and select the music that we want to use.
- We can also make use of our own tracks or effects from the respective tab.
- We click on the track bar to open white markers that we can adjust to select the starting and ending positions of the music we chose.
- We can even edit the video with different options that the app has.
- To finish, we are simply going to press the Instagram icon and that’s it.
In this way we can add music to our Instagram posts. Obviously, to add to a video that we will publish in a normal post, it is a bit more complex, but it is the only option that we currently have available.
