As your Google Slides presentation unfolds, you may notice an unnecessary slide or two. When you have superfluous slides, the overall value of the presentation is reduced. Luckily, there are some easy ways to remove them.
Use the keyboard or context menu
You can quickly delete a slide in Google Slides using the key Suppress from the keyboard or by selecting the option Remove from the context menu.
First, click on the slide you want to delete in the left pane. You can also select multiple slides by holding down the Shift key while clicking on them.
The edge of the slide will turn yellow when selected.
Once selected, press the Delete keyboard.
You can also right-click on the slide and select “Remove”From the context menu that appears.
Regardless of the method you choose, the selected slide will be erased.
Delete a slide using the menu bar
There is also an easy way to delete a slide using an option from the menu bar. First, select the slide you want to delete. You will know that the slide is selected when its border turns yellow. If you want to select multiple slides, press and hold. Shift while clicking on them.
Once selected, click on “Edit”In the menu bar. In the drop-down menu that appears, click on “Remove“.
The selected slides will be deleted.
Delete a slide in the grid view
Some presentations can be quite long and have many slides. Using the grid view makes it easy to locate these slides. Once the slide is located, you can delete it in the same way as you would from the left pane in Normal view.
First, click on “View“In the menu bar and then select”Grid view“. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + 1.
Once in the grid view, select the slide or slides you want to delete by clicking on them (hold down the Shift key to select multiple slides). Then just press the key Suppress or right-click on any selected slide and click “Remove”From the context menu.
The selected slide or slides will be deleted.
This is just one of the many basic functions that you will have to learn to become fluent in Google Slides.
