As you know, you can send all kinds of things by email. From photos and images to files and documents, it couldn’t be easier to share items via email. If you receive an attachment from a friend, family member, or colleague in an email message with Gmail, you may want to save it.
Gmail allows you to download an attachment to your computer or, if you run out of space, save it to Google Drive. For certain types of images, you can even save them directly to Google Photos.

How to download an attachment from your Gmail inbox
If you use the density Default for your inbox, instead of the Compact wave ComfortableYou should see the email attachments in your inbox.

How to download email attachments in Gmail

When you select one of them, you will have the same options as the previous ones. Depending on your browser settings, you can organize your download in Google Drive or select what to do with the file when you download it to your computer.
Some types of attachments offer additional options. For example, if you receive a Microsoft Office file (for example, a file DOCX of Word), you can open it with the corresponding tool of Google Docs.
If you receive a photo embedded in the body of the email directly, you can right-click and select an action. As an example, you can see here that you can open, save or copy an image.
