Thanks to Word comments, it is possible to take notes for others or for ourselves. However, on some occasions they can be annoying or a great distraction. To avoid this, it is best hide or remove comments in microsoft word and luckily, it is quite easy to get it.

Although they are not as obvious as putting a circle in the text, comments are used to add notes or suggestions in certain sections of the document.

Whether it’s hiding or deleting comments in Word, it can be both a good and a bad thing, sometimes we’ll need to remember certain things or mention specific details (especially if we’re editing the document in a group) and it can be distracting. Especially if we decide to edit a PDF, which usually has a lot of information.

Hide comments in Microsoft Word

Obviously, when we try to focus on the document we are writing, comments can become a distraction. Fortunately, it is possible to hide them so that they are not visible in the document, although they will still be there.

Revision.

We can hide comments and show an indicator instead. For this we are going to go to the Review tab and then we will click on “Show comments” in the Comments section on the ribbon.

See comments.

This will deselect the Show Comments button, hide all comments, and we’ll see a note indicator. You can click on any of the indicators to see the comments again.

Hide comments.

In case we do not want to see the comments and the bookmarks, we will go to the Review tab and in the Tracking section of the ribbon. Here we will see a Show for Review dropdown box, we are going to choose “No Markup”.

This will hide all marks, comments and flags. In case we want to directly eliminate all comments, we will see it a little further down.

How to delete comments

Delete comments in Microsoft Word.

If we want to delete a specific comment, we will have to select it and click on the three points that are in the upper right part of the comment, a small menu will appear with the option “Delete comment”; if we want to delete it with its answers, we will choose “Delete thread”.

In case we want to delete all the comments, we will go to the “Review” tab and click on the arrow below “Delete”, a new menu is displayed and we will choose “delete all comments”.
