The idea is that you can send or receive all Chrome passwords to other browsers… and vice versa. Both processes are easier than they seem and, once you get used to them, you will be able to take advantage of them. Even if you have experience importing and exporting passwords in other browsers, it’s very similar.

In the specific case of Chrome, we must thank the Google developers who have released specific functions to import and export passwords, which are related to Chrome Flags.

So you can export your Chrome passwords

Before starting the procedure itself, you have to go into Chrome Settings to prepare everything. Click on the three dots icon in the upper right corner, and open the menu with the Settings button. Within this section, in the Autocomplete category, you will see that Passwords appears, and then the Manager.

Next to Passwords saved in your Google account, tap on the three-dot button on the right. Immediately the options will open, Export passwords (and maybe Import passwords).

Probably like Chrome by default does not allow you to import passwords for security reasonswhen you have not changed that setting you will find that it only says Export passwords.

Tap there if you want to export your passwords from Chrome and save them on your computer for later. Surely you will have to accept the warning that Anyone can see all your passwords there. Remember, also, that the files with the passwords are saved in CSV format on your PC.

But how to import passwords in Chrome?

We already said before that, by default, Chrome does not allow you to import passwords for security reasons. hopelessly you will have to activate this option, writing the address chrome://flags/#PasswordImport. Pressing Enter you will enter Chrome Flags, and You will have marked the option Password import that we are looking for.

Now click on the drop-down menu in Password import and choose the Enabled option, or Enabled. Activated the option to be able to import passwords in Chrome press Relaunch now, or Restart now. It is essential to do this because, otherwise, Chrome will not apply the changes you have made.

Once you have activated the option in Chrome Flags you can proceed as normallike before.

Next to Passwords saved in your Google account, tap on the three-dot button on the right. The options will open immediately, which are: Import passwords and Export passwords.

If you couldn’t see the Import Passwords option before, it should now appear on the screen. Only You have to click on Import passwords, and wait for the browser on your PC to open. Generally, you will have a CSV file waiting to take the passwords from there and import them.

Clicking on it and clicking Open will load all the passwords in your Chrome account.
