The first thing will be to make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as our computer. Add an older wireless printer
In case our printer does not appear in the list, something that can happen in case it is an older device, we will have to click on the Add printer button.
- We will assign the desired name.
- We will write the IP address in the address box (it is possible to find the IP address somewhere in the display menu of the printer. We can also look for our configuration in the network configuration section).
- We will leave the rest of the fields as they are, although we will click on the blue Add button and we will have to write the printer manufacturer and model (For example, “HP” and “Officejet Pro 8600) and choose the relevant options as we go. appear. Then we will click Add.
Print from a Chromebook
The last option is ideal for those printers that are older and do not have an internet connection. We can connect them via USB cable, it is also an option for new printers in case we do not want to use any of the previous methods.
- We connect the cable to the printer and the other end to the Chromebook.
- A pop-up window will appear asking us to configure our printer. In the pop-up window, we will have to select “Add printer” and follow the instructions.
- In case it does not appear, we will open the Chromebook settings and type “Print” in the search box.
- Among the results we choose Printing.
- To finish, we will click on the name of the printer and then Add.
