TikTok is designed to work on vertical screens of mobile devices, although the fact that it is designed for this does not limit its use to smartphones. It is also possible use TikTok on a Chromebookwe have two options to achieve it and it will work practically in the same way.
Use TikTok in the browser on a Chromebook
TikTok has a desktop website that works very similar to mobile apps. To start using it from the browser, we are going to have to open Chrome on the Chromebook and go to the official Web. Once we are here, we are going to “Login” in the upper right corner.
After logging in, we’re going to see all of the TikTok options a little differently than we’re used to on mobile. For example, the load, messages and inbox are in the upper right.
The “For You”, “Following” and “Live” tab are located on the left side.
In the case of videos, we can scroll up and down as we would in the app. The “Like”, “Comment” and “Share” buttons are located as usual on the right side.
In case we want the TikTok web app to appear in the app drawer, we can install it from the address bar. In this way we can enter the social network more quickly.
TikTok from the Play Store
In case we want to have the same interface that we would have on the mobile phone, we can achieve it by installing TikTok from the Play Store. For this we will open the Google store from the application drawer and start “Play Store”.
Here we are going to search for “TikTok” and we are going to click on the “Install” button.
Once the installation process is complete, we are going to click on “Open”. The app can also be found in the app drawer.
From this app, the experience will be the same as what we are used to on a mobile phone. We will have to log in and that’s it.
One thing to note is that low-power Chromebooks are going to have a harder time running the Android app than the web version. In these cases, it is best to use the web app, because it will work more smoothly.
