Windows 11 has a lock screen much like Windows 10, and you can change the wallpaper. Not to be confused with the login screen where you enter your password or PIN to access the desktop. It is the first screen that shows the time, the information of the applications and the wallpaper.

How to Change Windows 11 Lock Screen Wallpaper

To change your lock screen wallpaper, click the button. Beginning and then on the icon Setting. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut key Windows + I to directly open the Setting.

When Settings starts, click Personalization in the list on the left. Then click the button Lock screen from the menu on the right, in the “Personalization” section.

Now, in the section Personalize> Lock screen, click on the drop-down menu in the “Customize your lock screen” section. There you have three options.

  • Windows Spotlight (Windows Spotlight): Images are automatically set by Windows.
  • Image: Allows you to choose a Microsoft image or a photo from your collection. Just search for it and set it as your lock screen wallpaper.
  • Slideshow: Allows you to select a folder with photos and other images in it, and these will rotate at regular intervals.

Once you’ve selected the image you want to use for your lock screen, you may want to change the apps that display notifications. To do this, click the menu next to “Lock Screen Status” and select an application. Note that you can choose none if you don’t want anything to be shown.

When you press Enter on the keyboard, click the mouse, or swipe up on a touchscreen device, you are taken to the login screen. When you set the lock screen wallpaper, it will also change for the login screen. But you can disable it.
