Previously, Windows came with the Print to Microsoft XPS printer by default. This was Microsoft’s alternative to PDF. That didn’t last long though, as Microsoft switched to PDF using its built-in Microsoft PDF printer virtual printer.

So, if you want to create a PDF file format from a document, just open the document and select Print. Then select the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF printer. It’s that easy!

As mentioned above, one can print or create any document in PDF format using Windows built-in Print to PDF printer.

To do that, follow the steps below:

Depending on the application, you can find the Print function or go to File ==> Print.

When the Print window opens, select the Microsoft Print to PDF under the Select printer section. Then click on the Print button to save the document in PDF file format.

When you click the Print button above, Windows will quickly convert or transform to PDF format and ask you to select a location to save the file, as well as the file name you want to save.

Looking at the windows below file name field, the default location is your Documents folder and file Save as type it will be a PDF document.

Click on the Save money button and go.

Then go to the Documents folder and the printed document should be saved as a PDF file. If you choose another destination to save the file, go there to find it.
