How to turn off the touch screen in Windows 11

As mentioned above, there is generally no dedicated button to turn off touchscreens in Windows 11. If you decide to disable the touchscreen functionality of your computer, the easiest way is to disable it in Device administrator.

Windows 11 has a centralized location for most of its settings. From system settings to creating new users and updating Windows, everything can be done from the System settings crystal.

To access the System Settings, you can use the Windows key + i shortcut or click Start ==> Settings as shown in the following picture:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and find Settings. Then select to open it.

The Windows settings panel should look similar to the image below. In Windows settings, click Systemand select Upon on the right panel of the screen shown in the image below.

In the About Settings panel, under Related Settings, click Device administrator as highlighted below.

Select a category to see the device names, then right-click (or long-press) the one you want to update.

The touch screen device will pass under the Human interface devices category. Expand the category to search for touchscreen devices.

If you have several HID compliant touch screen items, be sure to disable each of them.

Right-click or long-press the first HID compliant touch screen device, then select Disable device.

You can also click Action in the top menu and select Disable devicme.

Do this for anyone else HID compliant touch screen item in that category. If you don’t have a second item, you’re completely fine. Most computers will only have a single HID-compliant touchscreen device in Device Manager.

Restart your computer and your computer’s touch screen should be disabled.
