How to enable close sharing in Windows 11

As mentioned above, Nearby Sharing can quickly help you share content via Bluetooth Wi-Fi with other nearby devices. To enable, follow the steps below.

Windows 11 has a centralized location for most of its settings. From system settings to creating new users and updating Windows, everything can be done from your System settings crystal.

To access the System Settings, you can use the Windows key + i shortcut or click Start ==> Settings as shown in the following picture:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and find Settings. Then select to open it.

The Windows settings panel should look similar to the image below. In Windows settings, click System, Select Share close on the right panel of the screen shown in the image below.

In the nearby sharing settings panel, select the options to share with your devices or with everyone nearby.

The settings should be applied immediately. Now you can exit the configuration panel.

How to share documents and pictures through close sharing in Windows 11

Now that close sharing is enabled, you can start sharing documents and images with nearby devices.

On the PC that has the document you want to share, open File Browser and find the document you want to share. In File Explorer, right-click the document and select Show more options.

In the next context menu, select Shareand then select the name of the device you want to share with.

Make sure the other device you’re sharing with also has nearby sharing enabled. Then select it from the list of devices you want to share with.

On the receiving device, or the device you are sharing with, select Save and open or Save money when the notification appears.

To share images, follow the same steps above.

How to disable close sharing in Windows 11

If you are done sharing with devices and want to turn off or disable close sharing, please reverse the steps above. Go to Men Home ==> Settings ==> System ==> Nearby Sharing and select the options to disable.
