The taskbar in Windows 11 is centered at the bottom of the screen by default. It seems that Microsoft is only going to allow us move it to the lower left corner of the screen. Unless something changes, you won’t be able to move to the right, left, or top of the screen like in previous versions of Windows. But something that is still possible is to hide it.

How to Hide the Taskbar in Windows 11

To get started, you have to open the settings from the taskbar. To do this, right-click on the taskbar and click the button. taskbar settings that appears.

The configuration page will open in the section “Personalization“. Scroll down the list and click on the taskbar: “Taskbar behaviors, system pins.”

Then scroll down and click the drop-down menu Taskbar behaviors (Taskbar Alignment, Badge, Auto Hide and Multiple Displays). Next, check the box “Automatically hide the taskbar” and you will see that the taskbar disappears. You can then exit Settings.

Note that when you exit Settings, the taskbar will appear briefly and will automatically re-hide itself. There will also be a “sliver” of the taskbar that appears at the bottom. It is barely noticeable. If you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen, the taskbar will appear immediately. And then you can use it as usual. When you move the mouse away from the taskbar, it will automatically re-hide itself.

Hiding the taskbar allows your applications to fill the entire screen without getting in the way. The taskbar only occupies a small part of the screen; Still, it’s nice to reclaim every inch of screen space, especially on smaller screens.
