If Skype was installed from the Microsoft Store, here is how to disable automatic start at sign in.

Click the Start button and search for Skype. Under Best Match, select the Skype app (Microsoft Store app). Then click Application Settings as highlighted below.

Once the Skype application settings open, under Runs on login, move the button to the Off Position to disable Skye from automatically starting when you log into Windows 11.

How to disable Skype autostart via Task Manager

If you have the traditional Skype app installed, you can disable automatic startup through Task Manager. To do that, click the Start button, then search for Task Manager. Under Best Match, click the Task Manager application.

Click on the “Home” tab. If you don’t see any tabs, click «More details” first.

Then find «Skype«In the list, right-click and select»Deactivate. »Windows will no longer automatically open Skype when you sign in.

How to disable automatic Skype login from the app

You can also disable Skype so that it doesn’t automatically start and log you in from the app. Open the application, then click the ellipse (three dots) and select Settings As shown below.

When the Settings panel opens, select General from the left menu and toggle the button to disable Start Skype automatically and Up close, keep Skype running.
